The "What is THAT?" game...

Today, I am officially 36 weeks pregnant and well into my 9th month. Wow!

And my new favorite game is the "What is THAT?" game. Here's how you play...

You suddenly feel this very bizarre rolling or pushing feeling coming from your overly large belly. You put your hand on your belly, feel something push very strongly against your hand and you say out loud, "What is THAT?", or "What IS that?", in your best "Mommy voice" or "Daddy voice". (If you're Johnny, you add "little Missy" to the end)

Yes, it's quite bizarre to see odd appendages protruding from your own stomach and moving on their very own. It's incredibly Alien-like, and incredibly fascinating! Johnny will look up at me laughing and say with a grin, "you've really got a baby in there!"

Yep. We've really got a baby in there. Ho-ly cow!

We are having our prenatal appointments every week now and things are looking really good! She's already in the birthing position, her head firmly wedged somewhere in between my pelvic bones, and unless she really does some flip flopping it looks like she'll be facing the right way (with her back against my stomach during the birth). All good!

Johnny's Mom visited us last weekend and helped us get the office moved into the basement (which is now carpeted and looks great!) and also helped us complete the next phase of nursery set up. We've got all the furniture in there now... crib, changing table, dresser, and rocking chair. We just need to organize all the stuff, (each piece of furniture is just covered with unorganized baby clutter at the moment) and finish decorating, and then we'll be all set! Johnny and his Mom had a heck of time putting the stroller together. Who knew what a task that would be! The crib was even worse... it did NOT come with instructions. Luckily, Johnny found some on line but there were many complaints and reports that it seems this is something quite common (the manufacturer conveniently "forgetting" to include the instructions with the crib). Some skeptics think they do this on purpose so that if you set it up wrong, they can claim that you didn't set it up according to the instructions (cause there WEREN'T ANY).

In any case, we found the instructions on line, and now the crib is set up without even any left over screws. Woo hoo!

My new office is also set up in the basement and I've been working down here all week without any problems. It took SO many people to help us get to this point... and I"m SO GLAD it's finally done. There's still more work to do (to organize all the baby stuff), but at least we've got everything in place now. And none too soon! Today, officially, she could be delivered and not only be completely viable without needing any prenatal life support, but we could legally deliver at the birthing center without having to go to the hospital.

So, I'm feeling really really great today.

I'll try to get around to posting more belly profile pics... it's been over a month since our last snapshot! The belly has certainly grown a lot!
